5 Reasons Why You Need a WordPress Website

Did You Know: Your website has about 3 SECONDS to make an impression.

So, when I start working with a new coaching client who needs a web presence, the first thing I do is start them with a WordPress website. When they aren’t sure it’s a good fit (“I don’t just want a blog…”), these are the 5 reasons I share with them, because I believe everyone needs a WordPress website.

Easy to Use for Tech Savvy-less

If you aren’t familiar with anything about HTML, coding, or how to design websites in general,  a WordPress website is a great place to begin. WP has the easiest way to create a new blog post, a new page, or anything else your site needs to display. My analysis is that creating a new blog post or a new services page is as easy as creating and editing a Word document. It’s true! Here’s a screen shot from when I was writing this blog post for you!

Built-In SEO

You want to be found in Google searches, right? Do you know how? What I love about a WordPress website is that you don’t have to! They have built-in tools to help you pick the keywords you want to target, tell you where to place them, and then send out that information to Google, and the other search engines.

One-Click Website Design

WordPress websites are built on themes. When you install a theme, in one click, you have a fully built website in just one click. From there, it can be super easy (or a little complicated) to change your colors and layout, but that’s why you should review ALL the free (and paid) WP themes available. Some of my favorite pro themes are over at StudioPress Themes for WordPress*, and built on the super customizable Genesis framework. If you’re doing it yourself, I suggest that you get a theme that you absolutely love, and don’t really need to make changes to the colors, etc. But, if you do need help customizing your WordPress website, you know where to find me!

Unlimited Customization and Features

Besides easy changes to your colors and layouts (sidebar, or no sidebar?), WordPress also has an AMAZING collections of plugins, or, handy done-for-you code, that takes your theme from flat to functional. Plug-ins allow you to create super nifty features within your WordPress website, such as an e-commerce store, opt-in buttons, rotating testimonials, and even hosting your own podcast on your own website. There is really no limit to what you can create by using their plugins.

Social Media Integration

To grow your audience, they need to be able to find you. Social media has never been easier to display than with a WordPress website. That’s because they have amazing features for displaying your social icons (where your channels are), and for pushing out your content to social networks (social sharing and tweetables). Ready to get social? Your website is a great place to start.

Ever Evolving

They say that you need to get a new website every 3-5 years. And with WordPress, you’ll always have a new site. They are constantly evolving their software, which means your WordPress website will stay on the cutting edge of technology and trends. Just make sure you update it when you’re prompted to!
