3 Crucial Pieces Your Funnel is Missing

If you’ve launched your programs and services, only to find that you’re continually falling short of your launch goals, it could be that your sales funnel is missing one of these 3 crucial pieces.

Click below to watch or listen:

1. Genuine Scarcity

Unless you’re doing a close out sale or simple 3-day launch, having an open and close cart date isn’t always enough to get your list to take action.

Try sprinkling in limited time bonuses, varying payment plans, and 1:1 access throughout the cart open period to spur anyone off the fence and into your program.

2. Customer Onboarding

A lot of people think that the sales funnel ends when your cart closes. But there’s actually another level to consider for what happens after they purchase your program or product.

If you’ve ever had high refund rates, or experienced a lot of turn over in your programs, then it’s likely this crucial piece is missing from your funnel.

Set your purchasers up for success (and create raving fans!) with ongoing email support, supportive Facebook communities and surprise gifts and bonuses.

3. Upsells/Downsells

If you’re constantly falling short in your launch goals, it’s likely your sales funnel hasn’t included upsells and downsells.

If your offer has a payment plan, consider adding an upsell to join at the full price. Or, think about what offer will come AFTER they finish the original program.

And downsells are a great way to capitalize on your launch. After spending hundreds on Facebook ads to grow your list, maybe your offer wasn’t quite right. So you can offer a downsell to keep them engaged and invested with you.

YES! This is SO great. You are obviously such an expert at this funnel game.

Also, I’m looking forward to diving into your Top 20 Upsell and Downsell Ideas. I’m new to this idea – what are some examples of the easiest way I could start to introduce this concept – even though I don’t have additional product to offer?

Since I know a little about your business, this makes it easier. When you have your DIY videos and you offer them a free print, make them opt in to your email list to get it. Then send a few follow up emails, and then offer them a print bundle for $57-$97 that would have a bunch of designs they could use for their magnets, envelopes, etc.

You don’t have to create something new – but look at things you have on hand that could be bundled together and made valuable. 🙂

Genius! I never thought about upselling in funnels before. It sounds so obvious now that you’ve said it, but it never crossed my mind. I can see how you’re leaving money on the table if you don’t ask for them to take the next step.

Thanks for these great tips, Jessica!

Definitely! I’m working on one now where they finish a 10-day mini program for $97, and we nurture them with bonuses, extra tips, etc. for weeks after the fact – and THEN push for the upsell.

But if you’re doing a bigger launch, go ahead and include it right as they are checking out. Similar to what Amazon does when they are like “Other people also bought…”.

I’ve learned so much more about funnels than ever before – you are clearly a pro! I’m now considering new offerings and launches for my biz that I wouldn’t have otherwise thought of in the past. And, I love the video style. Keep those coming!
